Passion Comes and Goes!

Passions come and go! Sadly or actually happily I had to change my passion project for the third time. My first passion project was much too complicated to create and succeed on it. I was really passionate about, but if I would have succeeded it would have been a brake trough in science for which a lot of scientists already worked for. And let’s be realistic; that is not going to happen. My second passion project had something to do with action photography. It was a vehicle that would be able to capture and follow you in what ever action. However, something similar already existed, I was not happy with my outline and not enough passionate about it.

The Ms. Taynton started talking about the fact that we should try and solve problems. I am always annoyed with filing my school papers. Therefore, I thought it would be very nice if you can just feed in the paper and some machine in your locker files it. A the same time my classmate Ian thought of a smart locker, which would tell you what calls you have and reminds you of everything needed for class. So I thought it would be very cool if we team up and make an intelligent locker making the school life easier. At the end other people joined us and now we are 4 people trying to full fill this idea.

Passion Project 2016

Once again we are starting our passion projects in high school. This year I am looking forward to investigate and learn about the water. I am aiming to find a solution for underwater breathing or artificial gill. So currently it is only possible to stay underwater over 15min by using an oxygen tank. There is already such an invention out, but it is not usea
ble. The oxygen exchange takes too long and therefore, the body cannot absorb the necessary oxygen it needs. I am eager to find a solution even though there are already many people out there who are searching for one, but maybe they think too complicated. Anyways I want to change that because I am passionate about creating, chemistry, physics and underwater world. Even if I do not achieve finding a solution I probably learned a lot and extended my knowledge in a lot of ways.

Update on my Passion Project

I do not have a lot of news on my passion project because I am having trouble with the shipping website taobao. I am trying to order small bar magnets for my street, but taobao has some error. Therefore I probably have to ask my neighbor if she can order it for me.
On the other hand I have a bit trouble finishing my model on the computer (see provided picture). I am almost done, but the ending part is not done and I do not know how I should design it. It should look nice and mage up with the rest of my car. Maybe somebody could help me. Can you please write a response if you have a good idea.  Unbenannt

Update on my Passion Project

Even if I have not written any updates on my passion project for two dates, not a lot of things happened. th
I am mainly working on the three dimensional model on the computer program and I am still trying to figure out how I can make the front of the car shaped like a king fisher’s bard, which is more aerodynamic. However I am still struggling a bit with the program because it does not have that many modifying options.
Additionally, I am researching for the best electro magnets that I can use, but I cannot print my Magnicle, yet until I received the magnets because I have to make it fit into the model.
Lastly, I suppose my 3D printer is able to print my object and it is just a matter of calibration to make it perfect.
I am looking for word to buy the magnets on taobao this week and receive it next week so I can try and print my car.

Reflection of my Passion Project Presentation

Last week we had do present our passion project. So I talked about my Magnicle, what, why and how I am going to make it. I did not prepare anything and just improvised. Therefore, my presentation was probably a bit mixed up, but at the end everybody understood my project. I really enjoyed charring my idea with the rest of the class and happily accepted the comments of other students. Also I think that I presented my presentation interesting because it seemed that people were listening and understanding my project. Also my classmates were giving my other ideas that I can put into my final project. For me it was really important to get critic because I was not sure if my project is useable and realistic, but now I feel confident to produce a useful and efficient car.
